Campfire Stories!

The tradition continues--virtually!  We can't gather together around the campfire at Taylor Library this year, but you can join us from your backyard campfire at your convience to enjoy some stories and songs!  

On July 30th at 6:30 pm we will upload the Campfire Stories video with Mr. Ray on the Derry Public Library Facebook and Youtube pages.  Enjoy some s'mores at home while you listen along!

The Sleeping Beauty!

Whether you call her Princess Aurora, Briar Rose, or Thorn Rosa, the tale of Sleeping Beauty is an old one.

You can read her story in a book, watch it on a screen or see it danced on stage at the ballet.  Join the chorus on Facebook or Youtube on July 28th at 1:30 pm when Ms. Eileen will sing her story in 9 verses.  Coloring pages of the 9 verses are available in the Children's Room.

Knight Training!

 

Join us virtually to make noodle horses and cardboard shields! Make and take crafts!

We’ll throw in a story and then your off to your dragon chasing, giant vanquishing adventures!

Story and activity video will be uploaded to the library Facebook and Youtube pages on July 23rd at 1:30pm.

All Ages.  Registration required for Take It and Make It materials kit, which can be picked up at the library prior to the event through our curbside pickup.

Engineer a Fairytale--Led by the Children's Museum of NH

Ages 5-11.  Registration Required.

Virtually join instructors from the Children's Museum of NH for this fun and informative science program where you will use your engineering skills to solve some fairy tale problems!  Registration is required for this event so that we can set aside an activity bag for you with materials you will need to complete the activities in the instructional videos that will be provided by the Children's Museum.  Please register at your convenience and a librarian will contact you with more information as it becomes available.

Fire-Breathing Dragons!

Legends of dragons span the globe and stories of fire breathing dragons have been told for thousands of years. Join Ms. Kelly for a virtual summertime Take It and Make It dragon making project. Register in advance to pick up a Take and Make Fire Breathing Dragon bag in our lobby. On July 7th at 1:30 pm we will post our dragon making tutorial on the Derry Public Library Facebook and Youtube pages.

Super Tasty Cookie House!

Everyone knows the story of Hansel and Gretel, right?  Join Ms. Michelle for a virtual storytime and snack-making activity.  She will be reading Josh Funk's fractured fairy tale "It's Not Hansel and Gretel" and making Super Tasty Cookie Houses.  The video will be posted on June 23rd at 1:30 pm on the Derry Public Library Facebook and YouTube pages.  Please set aside the following materials prior to watching the video so that you can participate in the activity at home!
