The Kasser Donation
Michael and Beth Kasser made a generous donation to the Derry Public Library in 2021. Using this donation, the library was able to build a patio for our patrons and staff to enjoy. The patio looks out over MacGregor Park and connects to the library's Children's Room. It's a wonderful spot for library programs and events, as well as a relaxing place for patrons to sit and enjoy a sunny day.
The Kasser's donation also allowed DPL to purchase a digital sign. The sign has been something the library has wanted to install for years, so we are extremely grateful that the Kasser's made this possible. This state-of-the-art sign lets us share library hours, special events, news, and emergency closures with our patrons.
The Patio Bench
Our patio bench was was donated by dedicated library patron Tina Hitchcock when she passed away. There is a plaque on the bench in her honor. The bench spends the summer months as a comfortable resting place for patrons to use out on the patio. During the winter it's available for patrons to sit and read a book indoors in the Children's Room.
Patio Furniture
The wonderful tables and chairs that are available for our patrons on the patio were donated by long time patron Billy Carlisle when he passed away. The patio furniture is available for patrons to use for most of the year, as long as it's warm enough for the patio to be open.
