Adult Learner Services of Greater Derry
Adult Learner Services of Greater Derry offers adults free, confidential, one-to-one and small
group instruction in basic reading, writing, math, English
as a second language (ESL), and preparation for the high
school equivalency exam (GED). Volunteer tutors receive
training and on-going support as they work in partnership
with their students to reach individual educational goals.
Visit the Adult Learner Services of Greater Derry website for more information.
Individual Tutoring
The heart of the program is one-to-one tutoring. Meetings with the volunteer tutor
are private and take place at a time and place that is mutually convenient. Many people find they flourish with
the personalized attention they receive.
Small Group Classes
Some areas in the state provide small group instruction for ESL, GED preparation,
or basic skills. Time and length of sessions vary from place to place.
If you know of someone who needs help or wants to volunteer -- please pass the word.
