We have a 15-minute Quick Access Internet terminal for quick checks of
email or brief internet searches. We will be adding a second 15-minute terminal
in September. Stop at the Reference
Desk for a one-time use access code that will time-out
after 15 minutes. No more waiting in line just to check
your email!
Internet Access
Eight computers are dedicated internet access computers. Internet users

Word Processing w/Internet Access
MS Word, MS Excel and MS Publisher under
Windows Office XP and Open Office.
Electronic Databases
Three computers are dedicated to our subscription databases.
JAWS and MAGic
On a reference computer available to the public, MAGic 8.0 (screen magnification
software with speech) and JAWS for Windows 4.5 (screen
reading software) are programs for assisting blind
and visually impaired individuals in accessing software
applications and the internet.
In the Children's Room
Game Computers
Three computers feature children's educational software.
Cardholders can call (603)-432-6140 to reserve a computer.
Word Processing w/Internet Access (for children
up to grade 6)
MS Word with internet access. Parents must complete a short registration
form, and children must have a valid Derry Public
Library card to use the internet. Patrons are guaranteed
one hour on the computer.
Electronic Databases
One computer is dedicated to our subscription databases.
All computer use is provided without cost. However, there is a 10 cent per page cost for printing.
