Halloween Party!
Join us for a spooky time. We will play a whodunit mystery called "Mystery of the Howling Noises", eat eerie food, listen to a spooky story and show off your costume. Parents may drop-off their child as long as they are 9 years old or older. Please sign-up by calling the Derry Public Library Children’s Room at 432-6140.

Paws for Reading
with Hawke, a certified Therapy Dog
Come meet this amazing 8 year old Labrador retriever and sign up to read to her!
Hawke is a very patient dog who loves being read to by children. She's a certified therapy dog
with Therapy Dogs International. She loves new and experienced readers and really enjoys visiting with
the children. When she's not reading, Hawke lives in Plaistow with her sister and brother Labs
and human family.
Hawke will be visiting our library on the second Wednesday of each month, beginning in October. Call the Children's Room at 432-6140 for the dates & times. Sign-up for your 15-minute session to read to Hawke!
Chapter Reader's Club
The Chapter Readers Club is about reading and fun!
You read a book from the series collection (it’s a different series each month) and when we meet we will talk about the book you read. Afterwards, we will have an activity that relates to the series. It could be a craft, a game, a movie or a special visitor. Snacks will be served. For our first meeting in October, we will vote on the different series that you will be reading for each month.
- Every 2nd Thursday of each month from October to May
- From 3:30 to 4:30 pm
- Grades 1-3
